Overview.
The Augsburg-based food manufacturer sells its products via two independent WooCommerce stores. Orders are transferred manually to an ERP system from the Pforzheim-based ERP manufacturer PDG. This leads to inefficient processes and increased time expenditure in order processing.
The manual transfer of orders from the WooCommerce store to the ERP system is time-consuming and error-prone. Stocks are not updated in real time, which leads to inconsistencies. Lack of synchronization of DESADV data. In addition, one system is multilingual.
Development of middleware to consolidate the logics of two independent store systems. Transfer of orders to the ERP and synchronization of stock levels and product data. In addition, a tracking system is implemented that integrates DESADV messages as shipments in the stores and makes them visible to customers.
“It used to take around 15 minutes per order to synchronize the master data and transfer the consignment number. Now we are 50-60% faster thanks to the connection.
Features.
Consolidation of logics.
The two store systems are operated independently of each other, but both use the WooCommerce platform. By developing middleware, we ensure that features are equally available for both systems, which significantly reduces the maintenance effort.
Connection to ERP system PDG foodSolution.
Both stores provide order data, which is imported into the merchandise management system. They arrive there bundled and in the same format.
Inventory updating and customer communication.
Product data, stock levels and shipment data are exported from the ERP system. The stores use the DESADV data to send shipping confirmations by e-mail.
